My best friend had surgery with Dr. Patel, and after seeing how successful her outcome was, I decided to leave the doctor I was seeing at the time and switch to him. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s been five months since my flat foot surgery, and I truly feel like a different person. My foot feels amazing—I actually have an arch now (yay!). I feel more balanced, I haven’t needed any of my assistive devices, and even my back pain has improved. I’m really looking forward to having him work on my right foot next. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Patel since last August, and it has been a great experience.  Quite a few people at my workplace go to him and speak highly of him, so when I decided to see someone about foot pain I have been having, he was my first choice. I initially went in for a hammertoe and pain in my big toe, but I also mentioned ankle pain from what I thought was an old sprain that I had years ago. Dr. Patel sent me for X-rays and an MRI, and we discovered that I had an OCD lesion of the talus causing the ankle instability and pain. We decided to treat the ankle first, and he performed arthroscopic surgery last November. I was amazed that I had very little pain after the surgery that I easily treated with Tylenol and Ibuprofen.  It is almost 6 months later and my ankle feels great! I have minimal scarring, just 2 tiny dots. Dr. Patel also became my physical therapist because the place I was going to was awful. He actually gave me better exercises to do than they did, and even made me practice them in the office to make sure I was doing them lol. Now that my ankle is strong again, we will soon do the surgery for the hammertoe and bunion, and I’m sure it will go just as smoothly. You won’t regret going to Dr. Patel. Ive had a wonderful experience. He is very professional and has a great sense of humor. He is very knowledgeable. He makes you feel very comfortable. There is no wait time. Dr. Patel is one of the best doctors I’ve come across, not just as a podiatrist, but as a professional overall. Both of his offices (Manhattan and Flushing) are very convenient for me and have a smaller, boutique feel. They are quiet, well-run, and never overwhelming. Visits feel truly one-on-one, and you are not stuck waiting in a crowded room. He speaks to you like a real person, and after a few visits, it feels more like talking to a trusted family member who genuinely wants the best for you. Over the years, he has treated several of my family members for different issues, including diabetes-related concerns, and everyone has had the same experience—clear guidance, respect, and strong clinical care. The orthotics he prescribed completely changed how I walk. I thought I was doing fine before, but now my feet feel like they did 15 years ago. He also resolved a plantar wart issue quickly and has even helped a friend’s daughter, which showed me his work with pediatric cases as well. The staff are excellent—friendly, organized, and on top of everything. Appointment reminders by text and email are key. I missed confirming a couple of times in the past, and with a full schedule and waitlist, those spots do not stay open long. Once you stay on top of that, everything runs smoothly. Dr. Patel might hands (feet?) down be the best medical provider I’ve ever had the pleasure to receive care from, in every regard I can think of: competence, bedside manner, good humor, thoroughness, and all around humanity. I’ve had the (sadly not-so-unique) misfortune of needing quite a lot of care from quite a number of different specialists within a short timespan, so I don’t say that lightly or without varied experience. Dr. Patel is singular among the medical professionals I’ve worked with. Admittedly, he’s the only podiatrist I’ve ever seen. Maybe podiatrists are built different; but I would guess otherwise. Really, he may be one of only two doctors I feel like I’ve ever worked *with* as a fellow human, rather than being worked *on* by as one case easily lost among many (and that’s not something I blame doctors entirely for, as insurance companies, among other things, play a heavy hand here as well… but I digress). I went in for what I thought was a painful callous but turned out to be a recurring wart. I was promptly given an in-hindsight accurate approximation of what the required treatment would look like. A few months later, the wart is now obliterated and my foot fully cured, ahead of the estimated timeframe. Dr. Patel also took the opportunity (without my prompting!) to look at my feet as a whole, making sure I had the tools I needed for long-term health and to combat foreseeable issues that might arise down the line. Noting my previously unknown-to-me hypermobility, he took the time to request x-rays to make sure I wasn’t dealing with psoriatic arthritis or something similar. (Good news: no arthritis at an ungodly young age here, just weirdly bendy joints.) I’ve always had flat feet, and minor aches and pains I’ve learned to disregard. Dr. Patel fitted me for custom orthotics about which I was at first admittedly doubtful would make much of a difference. But two months later, my lower back has been bothering me much less than it had been. I didn’t even realize that pain started with my feet! More than anything, I’m grateful to have been treated as a whole person who mattered, rather than as a list of dubiously self-reported symptoms that needed to be crossed out. It’s not that every previous doctor failed to pass muster; it’s that Dr. Patel exceeded every standard I’ve known, truly going above and beyond. Plus, he’s a fun dude. Ask for pizza recommendations — the guy knows his stuff. Shoutout to Lydia as well, who was equally lovely (and wishing her the best in her future endeavors). TL;DR: Ten toes out of ten, but I’ll settle for five stars. Would recommend with well-warranted enthusiasm.

After dealing with a lingering ankle injury for years and seeing multiple specialists without answers, Dr. Patel was the first doctor to truly figure out what was going on. He identified a fractured talus that had gone undiagnosed and had led to significant arthritis in my subtalar joint. Dr. Patel performed a complex surgery to stabilize the bone, address the arthritis through arthroscopy, and use regenerative techniques to help support healing. What really stood out was how involved he stayed throughout my recovery - regularly communicating with me, coordinating with my physical therapists, and guiding me on orthotics, supplements, and proper after-care. Thanks to Dr. Patel’s expertise and dedication, I’m now closer to my baseline than I thought was possible after years of frustration. beautiful office and helpful staff that make it a seamless process to check in. I had severe plantar fasciitis. Dr Patel was able to provide effective intervention to my ailing foot. Walking had become so painful and difficult. Dr. Rahul was very friendly and explained everything step by step. He made me feel really comfortable, and his communication was clear throughout. The staff was also great. I genuinely felt at ease, and I think he's very good at what he does. I definitely recommend him.
